A vicar in a hardhat

Spent the weekend in London and saw two different organisations getting publicity in the same way – by doing something you didn’t expect.

The first was handyman.co.uk. They had someone driving an unusual-looking truck through central London… the truck was heavily branded, had one of those bubble machines on board, and had the driver singing through a PA system! Highly unusual, got loads of attention, and with such a simple website address I’m sure many people went home and looked it up.

The other was St Martins in the Field church, which is undergoing refurbishments and needs to raise more money. As the below picture shows, they avoided being ‘just another hoarding hiding refurbishments’ by putting a photo of a vicar in a hardhat on the hoardings. Brilliant!
