Get everything prepared before you start

The breakfast presenter on one of our local radio stations has just been talking about a new shop she spotted on the drive to work today.

It hasn’t opened yet but it’s exciting her… apparently its name suggests it’s a shop selling handmade chocolate.

And she said the website address was splashed all over the window. But when she visited the website, there was nothing there! Guess what – the shop didn’t get a name check on air.

What a wasted publicity opportunity for a new shop.

It’s not difficult to make sure everything is ready before you start. Don’t give out your website address till you have a website there. You have one chance for first time visitors, and that applies to ordinary people as well as journalists.

"We have had a positive response from our clients, many of whom had commented about information in the magazine Publicity Heaven created for us that they weren’t aware of. It has generated a steady flow of new enquiries from potential clients."

"Within one week an opportunity arose which Paul made me aware of at 6pm one evening. 85 minutes later we had a press release ready to go - one day later an excellent article was published in the local paper."
